Jane Austen’s England
Join Ellen and I as we experience the beauty of modern England while being enchanted by the history and stories of Jane Austen’s life and legacy.
We will explore many places where Jane Austen lived and wrote, such as, Bath, Chawton, Winchester, Lyme Regis, and a quick stop in London.
On our Austen Tour of England we will hit up classic sites that every Austenite or Literature Lover will enjoy. We will stop at Chatsworth which is the site of Pemberley in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice. We will stay in a town called Bakewell in Derbyshire. It’s a beautiful walkable village near a stream and adorable bridges, tiny shops and delicious bakeries.
We will see Jane Austen's House in Chawton and venture over to Chawton House for Tea. (Take a second and check out the Chawton House website, it’s a really cool place that has a focus on female literature. https://chawtonhouse.org/ ) This tour includes 2 nights in Bath and entry to Chatsworth, Jane Austen House, and Jane Austen Center.
Our stop in Bath gives us the opportunity to visit the Pump Room, Roman Baths and so much more. Lyme Regis is as lovely seaside stop on the trip, which was featured in Jane's novel "Persuasion." I plan to take a walk on The Cobb.
